GEORGIA ADDS AGION TO SELECT WORK BOOTS - New models protect feet from harmful bacteria
Long known for its premium quality work footwear, Georgia Boot has improved upon itself yet again by adding Agion™ technology to its product line. AgION is an antimicrobial treatment that uses a special compound with silver ions to kill a wide variety of bacteria, fungus, mold and mildew.“Agion is used in a full spectrum of applications from hospital equipment to food packaging,” said Mark Recchi, vice president of product development. “Now, Georgia Boot products will have the same ability to fight bacteria, which decreases the chance for workers to get athlete’s foot and other types of infections that come with wearing boots all day. Several new Georgia Boot styles will have a full lining that has been through the Agion treatment process. These new work boots come in six-inch, eight-inch and Wellington styles. Steel-toe and metguard versions are available as well. Many of these models also feature a tempered steel shank for support and the company’s patented Comfort Core® Airflow orthotic insert, which provides cushioning and breathability. A lightweight slip and oil resistant rubber outsole adds to the line’s list of safety features. Most new models also meet ASTM electrical hazard standards. Georgia Boot manufactures and markets quality-crafted work, safety, Farm & Ranch® and outdoor footwear.
